MasterCraft ProStar 190 EVO: A Timeless Classic

The 2006 ProStar 190 EVO is the most established towboat in the MasterCraft fleet and so the notion of messing with its major record-setting features is out of the question. However, 2006 brings a few cosmetic and performance enhancements that will invigorate this classic boat, attracting both a new generation of experienced and novice skiers.

For 2006, this enduring symbol of water skiing perfection will combine all of the traditional qualities of a tournament-bred towboat with some flashy and youthful -- yet sensible -- improvements. The most noticeable changes are in the 190's driver's command center. The 190 combines high performance and sleek styling with dark-blue face CAN-driven (control area network) Medallion gauges in the dash, top-lit toggles switches, second-generation digital throttle control technology at your fingertips, and the standard MasterCraft Cruise® system for incremental speed or RPM lock. All systems are surrounded in billet aluminum bright dip anodized appointments and guaranteed to deliver world-class performance.

Elsewhere in the interior, the 190 continues to offer the best money can buy. The interior is brought to life with new hammered metal textured vinyl accents with SRT (stain-resistant top coating), an anodized billet aluminum cup holder tray on the motor box, stainless grab handles for increased safety, and an upgraded JL Audio sound system (optional).

While innovative new interior designs continue to keep the ProStar 190 youthful, the 190's enduring low profile EVO (Evolution) hull design makes it the benchmark for all other competitive water ski towboats. The 190's running surface is the only boat in American Water Ski Association (AWSA) history to be certified in all 5 competitive water ski events with a single engine and has held all 3 world records in slalom, tricks and jump concurrently. The addition of new investment cast underwater gear, composite bearings, and the multi-port electronic fuel-injected RTP-1 engine in 2006 further advances this icon?s reputation for unparalleled performance. The RTP-1 engine, marinized by Indmar, puts out a bullish 310 hp and is calibrated specifically for the 190's hull shape using the latest Delphi ECM software.

While other closed bow competition inboards have already been put out to pasture, the 2006 ProStar 190 EVO remains young at heart, still breaking records and breaking the hearts of all the people who wished they had one.
